Getting to and around Prince Rupert and area can be confusing!
You have a few options:
1) Drive from Prince George. If you live in BC, you can drive to Prince Rupert, but there is only one route - through Prince George down Highway 16 West. This is an 8-9 hour drive.
2) Fly into Smithers (a 4 hour drive away) or Terrace (a 1.5 hour drive away) and rent a car. This is one of the most beautiful drives in BC, specifically from Terrace to Prince Rupert. Drive next to the Skeena River with gorgeous mountain views. Smithers is a cute mountain town if you're looking for something extra for your trip.
3) Fly into Prince Rupert. This seems straight forward but the airport is on an island, so it takes longer than you think to get to town as there are extra steps. Make sure to check out the airport website and read information regarding the Digby Island Ferry service. The shuttle leaves from the airport and takes 20 minutes to get to town.
